Racecourse Ground Guide
The Racecourse Ground, known in Welsh as Y Cae Ras, has been home to Wrexham since the club was founded in 1864. It’s recognised as the world’s oldest international football stadium still hosting international matches. Wrexham’s rise from the National League to the Championship has made it one of the most talked-about grounds in British football, and a matchday here comes with plenty of noise and history.
A brand-new Kop Stand is currently being built at one end of the ground. Once complete, it will take the capacity to over 18,000. Until then, the stadium operates on three sides with a capacity of around 10,700, so tickets are in high demand.
Football Ticket Pad seating options at the Racecourse Ground are generally divided into Longside and Shortside areas. Longside seats run alongside the pitch and give broad views of the game. Shortside seats are behind the goals and are often linked with a livelier atmosphere.
Matchday Highlights
The world’s oldest international stadium: The Racecourse Ground holds the Guinness World Record as the oldest international football stadium still in use.
The Turf: The famous pub on Mold Road, in the shadow of the ground, is where Wrexham AFC was founded in 1864. It’s a must-visit for many fans on matchday.
The new Kop: The new Kop Stand rising at one end of the ground will become the heart of the home support when it opens, complete with safe standing and a players’ tunnel built into the stand.
Longside
Longside seats are located in the stands running along the length of the pitch. The Wrexham Lager Stand is the main stand, a two-tier, fully covered stand that houses the club’s hospitality suites and press facilities.
Opposite is the Macron Stand, formerly known as the Mold Road Stand, which includes the Family Area at the end nearest the Kop. It’s a great option for supporters attending with younger fans.
Shortside
Shortside seats are positioned behind the goal. The University End, also known as the Tech End, is the beating heart of Wrexham’s home support while the new Kop is being built. It’s the place to be if atmosphere is your priority.
Hospitality
Supporters looking for a more premium experience can choose from selected Wrexham hospitality packages available through Football Ticket Pad.
Depending on the package, hospitality can include comfortable seating, food and drinks and access to dedicated areas within the stadium, including suites in the Wrexham Lager Stand.
Away Section
Selected Wrexham fixtures have a limited number of tickets available for visiting supporters. Away fans are housed in the upper tier of the Wrexham Lager Stand, at the University End side of the ground. Allocations are small, so demand for away tickets is often very high.
When available, supporters can select the “Away Section” option when browsing tickets. This area is intended for fans of the visiting team.
